Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, demons, and dark forces increasing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to undertake their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might look out of place, but the events of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to head next after a intense initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—used the foes for his own means, invading the secret base, striking the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their status as important members in the powerful family could assist the group access areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The cleric defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This means them little choice but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
What’s Next?
From the recent installment’s post-show segment, we find out that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the cast members to form the Explorers and Planners tables.
Audiences can expect finding out which players will be in which group in the story’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on next week.
